Apple has contested several rulings made by the EU authority on the labeling of its services. In the past, the firm requested an investigation into whether to classify the iMessage service under the gatekeeper category, which requires apps to allow cross-platform functionality. More recently, the company informed the European Union that it operates five distinct App Stores rather than just one.
