Assassin’s Creed Shadows On The Steam Deck
When Assassin’s Creed Shadows debuts next week, Ubisoft has confirmed that it will be playable on Steam Deck. It has now been established that Shadows will be Steam Deck Verified, even though the first announcement of this support did not define where it would fit on Valve’s classification scheme.
Although it doesn’t ensure optimal performance, it is the highest level that has been granted, so you shouldn’t experience any problems with text legibility, default resolution, controller support, etc.
The first game Ubisoft is releasing on Steam on day one since altering its Steam release policy last fall is Assassin’s Creed Shadows, the most recent installment in the long-running franchise set in Japan.
In spite of this, Ubisoft had previously stated in a Q&A that Steam Deck would not be supported by Shadows at launch since its specifications fell short of what was needed for the game to operate on a PC. However, we now know that won’t be the case. The remaining Assassin’s Creed titles on Steam are currently listed as Playable, not Verified. For the first time in this series, Shadows is tagged as Steam Deck Verified.
On March 20, the game will be available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
