YG Entertainment’s new girl group BABYMONSTER’s Ahyeon has left the group due to health reasons. The group is gearing up for its debut.

On November 15, YG’s agency said to iMBC Entertainment, “Ahyeon, who has been preparing together, has decided to focus on rest for the time being after careful discussion due to health reasons.” Read More on BlurStory – NewJeans Sends Cheering Message to Korean CSAT Test Takers

The agency continued, “We feel very regretful that we cannot introduce Ahyeon as a member of Baby Monster, but we have made this decision for the artist’s health. We will spare no effort in supporting Ahyeon to fully recover and return in good shape.”

Baby Monster is a girl group launched by YG 7 years after Blackpink. It is composed of multinational members including Korea, Thailand, and Japan, and all of them are known for their high-level vocal, dance, rap, and visual capabilities.

The number of subscribers to their official YouTube channel exceeded 2 million in 129 days, the shortest record for a K-pop girl group, even before their official debut, and currently exceeds 3.19 million. The cumulative number of content views is more than 450 million. The US Billboard selected them as ‘K-pop artists to watch’ and predicted that they would “create a new wave in the K-pop genre.”

We wish Ahyeon all the best in her recovery.
