Star Wars Tactics Game Announcement
Early in 2022, it was revealed that the unnamed Star Wars strategy game was being developed at Bit Reactor. It is a firm of former Firaxis Games employees best known for their work on the XCOM series. After collaborating closely with Respawn Entertainment, Bit Reactor is now prepared to reveal the game.
According to the official Star Wars Celebration 2025 itinerary, the first glimpse will be given on April 19 at a live panel featuring Bit Reactor’s lead development team, Respawn Entertainment, and Lucasfilm Games.
Since it’s being developed by the same people who created XCOM, it makes sense to think it will be heavily influenced by Star Wars.
Naturally, Respawn is also developing the third instalment of its Star Wars Jedi trilogy. Though there is no word on whether it will be present at this year’s Star Wars Celebration. A third Star Wars game, an unnamed first-person shooter with a Mandalorian protagonist, was formerly in development by Respawn but was shelved as part of a massive EA reorganization that resulted in the layoff of about 670 employees.
Respawn abruptly ended a multiplayer first-person shooter incubation project earlier in March and laid off an unspecified number of developers.
