Twisted Metal is quite an old franchise, with its last entry being 13 years old. Most people had given up on the franchise. However, there were talks about bringing in a new entry. That enthusiasm was completely gone once the fans discovered it was going to be a Twisted Metal Battle Royale game. And all that is left now are some screenshots.

According to MP1st, the game combined the series’ signature vehicular combat with third-person shooting elements. The project was internally referred to as Project Copper.
Unseen screenshots of the work-in-progress have been added to the portfolio of a UI programmer. The dev worked at Firesprite from April 2022 to October 2023. Early iterations of the third-person action game can still be seen in and out of cars. However, they are hazy graphics and lack an explicit mention of the game.
In their web profile, the developer stated, “I led the UI team as part of Project Copper.” “I was tasked with creating a generic UI system to be used in multiple projects in the company”
Sony announced in February 2022 that it planned to release more than ten new live service games in the upcoming years. A month later, Jim Ryan, a former Sony executive, expressed confidence in PlayStation’s live service initiative and stated that he thought live service games were an important component of the future of gaming.
Since then, though, the business has been reversing course on this ambition, canceling a number of planned projects, including two more in January.
