Duke Nukem Anime Is A Possibility Now

Duke Nukem has been dormant for more than a decade now. The franchise was one of the pioneers of 90s pc shooters. However, the series hasn’t aged that well. However, Adi Shankar, who is responsible for the DMC and Cyberpunk anime, has acquired the rights to the franchise.

What Will Adi Shankar Do With Duke Nukem?

In an interview with Esquire, Shankar stated, “I purchased the rights to Duke Nukem.” The impact of Shankar’s agreement with Gearbox on the live-action film being developed at Legendary with the Cobra Kai creators is unknown. Since its announcement in 2022, there haven’t been many updates on that project. In the same vein, there have been no new games or discussions about creating any sequels.

Shankar mentioned Devil May Cry Season 2, which Netflix has already ordered, but he didn’t go into any detail about his plans for Duke Nukem. There are a few little spoilers for Devil May Cry Season 1’s conclusion.

Shanker is aiming to surpass Arcane, the highly regarded animated series based on League of Legends, rather than match his prior success with Castlevania. Devil May Cry Season 2’s Netflix launch date has not yet been announced.
