On October 17, YG unveiled the merchandise inspired by the collaboration between Jennie and Naoko Takeuchi, the creator of Sailor Moon. These included cushions, T-shirts, Sweatshirts, and phone cases. However, fans were completely let down by the apparent lack of effort put into the product designs.
With the breathtaking concept and artwork provided by Takeuchi, fans were hoping for a touch of creativity. However, it seemed that YG merely transposed the original design onto the merchandise.
To show their disappointment, Jennie’s fans express their dissatisfaction with merch and pricing. They even criticise YG for not fully capitalizing on the potential of this collaboration.
Particularly, as discussions about the uncertainty of BLACKPINK’s contract renewal with YG continue to circulate, some fans are even hoping that Jennie will leave YG, as she deserves better.
