PlayStation Portal New Update Features
The software update aims to improve the PS Portal user experience by enhancing a number of aspects. The first of them enhances the device’s compatibility with public WiFi networks. This is even though it is intended for use at home with a stable internet connection, according to Hiromi Wakai, VP of Product Management.
PS Portal may now connect to a variety of public Wi-Fi networks that require additional authentication procedures before gamers can connect, such as sign-in screens. When faced with such a challenge, the handheld will show a QR code that may be scanned with a smartphone or tablet to connect players to the required sign-in.
Another new feature is visual feedback for touchpad areas included in the Playstation Portal Update. This allows users to do the desired gestures and suggestions rather than attempting them without a visible hint. Finally, the PlayStation Portal’s battery life will now be optionally displayed as a percentage. When the update is published, players can enable this option by navigating to Settings, System, Battery, and Show Battery Percentages.
