The drama is based on a webtoon of the same name and is written by Bong Joo-ho, the screenwriter of the Oscar-winning film “Parasite.” It tells the story of a soldier named Jae-yoon and his girlfriend Yeong-ju who are struggling against a horde of zombies in Seoul. The drama is set against the backdrop of an air defense unit in a high-rise building.
Jisoo is reportedly being considered for the role of Yeong-ju, while Park Jung Min is being considered for the role of Jae-yoon. If they sign on to the project, this will be their first leading roles in a television series.
“Influenza” is being produced by Blade Entertainment and will be distributed by Coupang Play. The Drama premiere is still not confirmed.
