Korean Rapper Koala a contestant on the popular hip-hop survival show “Rap: Public,” will be completely edited out of the program following his involvement in a recent assault incident.
The streaming platform hosting “Rap: Public,” Stated that all of Koala’s appearances in the show, starting from Episode 4, will be removed through editing. This decision comes in response to the controversy surrounding Koala’s assault of a fan who had approached singer Jessi for a photo.
The incident occurred on September 29th in Apgujeong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. The victim, a minor, was assaulted by a man identified as Koala. Despite Jessi’s attempts to intervene, the assailant fled the scene.
Following the incident, Jessi issued an apology, stating that the assailant was a stranger she had encountered that day. However, CCTV footage later revealed that Koala had also participated in the assault.
The controversy intensified when a photo of Koala and Jessi surfaced, showing them in a friendly manner. Koala had previously collaborated with Jessi on several music projects.
While Jessi’s lawyer denied any affiliation between Koala and an American gang, as suggested by a tattoo on his arm, the public’s perception of Koala and her involvement in the assault led to widespread criticism.
In light of the police investigation and public outcry, Jessi also posted an apology on her social media. She expressed her deep regret for the incident and offered her condolences to the victim and their family.
