Korean Actor Ma Dong-seok recently opened up about the story behind his popular “Buried Alive Point-of-View Shot” photo, which shows him playfully buried in the sand with a heart drawn next to him.
In an interview with My Daily, Ma Dong-seok revealed that the photo idea came from his wife. “Most photo ideas come from my wife,” he said. “When she gives us ideas, we work hard to take pictures.”
He also admitted that he doesn’t have a traditional profile picture and hasn’t taken one in 20 years. “The pictures that look like profile pictures were taken by close artists once in a while,” he explained.
The “Buried Alive Point-of-View Shot” photo came about because Ma Dong-seok’s wife suggested he take a photo of a sand heart, which was trendy at the time. “I took the photo, but it was difficult,” he said. “There was no title for the photo, so I asked for one, and someone said, ‘At the time of burial alive,’ and ‘Not yet.’ He gave me an idea like, ‘You’re not dead.’ It was ingenious. It was so much fun,” he added with a laugh.
Ma Dong-seok also talked about a video of him playing golf with one hand that went viral. “I don’t know how to play golf,” he confessed. “I learned a little from a professional when I was filming the drama ’38 Squad’. I played a little baseball and boxed when I was young, so I could move my weight well and hit the ball well.”
“I also heard people say, ‘It would be good to learn it later,'” he said. “I went to the field to drive a cart,” he continued. “He told me to try it, so I did, and by chance, the ball hit well,” he said, laughing.
