Palworld, or the game better known as “Pokemon with guns” was a huge hit among the players. It was quirky and fun and inspired by Pokemon with unique twists. Many Pals, as they are called in the called also resembled the Pokemon. Well, maybe they resembled them too much. This is why Nintendo hit the Palworld studios with a lawsuit and more information is out now.

Palworld – Nintendo Lawsuit
Pocketpair posted a summary of the facts. The three Japanese patents in dispute are identified as Nos. 7545191, 7493117, and 7528390. Earlier this year, all three patents were registered. The patents seem to focus on the gaming mechanics of shooting targets, riding characters, and throwing a ball at characters rather than targeting Palworld for its Pokemon-like creatures.
The action seeks an injunction against Palworld for paying Nintendo and The Pokemon Company approximately $33,000 in US dollars, plus late fees. The lawsuit’s specifics mostly match the forecasts made earlier this year by Serkan Toto, the CEO of Kantan Games and a video game analyst.
Poketpair hasn’t slowed down its plans for Palworld as of yet. Despite the continuing dispute, the game has been launched in Japan and was recently converted to the PlayStation 5. Additionally, Poketpair and Sony have partnered to establish Palworld Entertainment, which will grow the IP and open up new licensing and retail options.
