Paper Mario is one of the most liked series from the Super Mario franchise. The last game, The Origami King was also very well received. And now instead of a new game, we are getting a remake.

Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door

The game will formally relaunch for the Nintendo Switch platform on May 23, 2024. Since the game’s original 2004 GameCube release, this is the first time an update has been seen in it. Twenty years later, the video game developer is claiming “revamped graphics” along with a “suite of additional changes.” The team has provided some details about what users can expect on the Nintendo Store.

“The nefarious X-Nauts are after the treasure behind the Thousand-Year Door! With a map from Princess Peach and the help of a few locals, Mario journeys through a colourful world made of paper to find them first. To prevail in this quest, you’ll have to level up Mario and his friends, master timing-based attacks and badges to impress the audience on the stage of combat, and make sure of all the abilities that come with being cursed-er, conveniently made of paper – like folding into a plane to cross big gaps or turning sideways to slip through narrow openings.”

The profile goes on to describe how Goombella and Browser, among other intriguing characters, would accompany Mario on his adventure.

Nintendo has also stated that the remaster of Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD will be available on the Switch system on June 27, just one month after this is launched. When this was initially released to the public in 2013, it was known as Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon.
