Nintendo’s Mario Movie was a success in the theatres. This has led people to hope that Nintendo will let other franchises shine on the big screen. One of them is the Legend of Zelda, which, to be fair, has a huge potential for movies. While Nintendo hasn’t done anything with IP, it isn’t letting others do anything either, as it shuts the Legend of Zelda live-action movie.

Live-action Legend of Zelda Movie
Chris Carpenter, an actor and director, started a Kickstarter campaign last month to realize his idea for a Legend of Zelda fan movie. Even though the campaign only raised about $24,000 and had a reasonable level of success, Nintendo took notice.
One of the film’s producers, Dio Traverso, announced on the Kickstarter page that the project has been shut down. He added that no funds will be raised from the campaign. the film was titled Lost in Hyrule. To conclude that part of Link’s travels, the tale was placed after Ocarina of Time and Majora’s Mask.
Even if Lost in Hyrule had been finished, the Japanese game publisher most certainly would have pursued it, but the Kickstarter campaign and related media definitely accelerated Nintendo’s legal response.
