Nintendo Switch 2 Gamechat Time Limit
Many fans were interested in the new C button on the redesigned Joy-Cons before the Switch 2 was fully shown in April. It turns out that you may start a GameChat session by tapping here. This enables four people to share their screen simultaneously and up to 12 players to chat simultaneously. Players must add the relevant contacts to their friends list before they can join a GameChat session.
A single GameChat session on the Nintendo Switch 2 can last up to 24 hours before ending automatically, as revealed by Nintendo Soup and first seen by YouTuber Nathaniel Bandy. Thirty minutes prior to the room closing, a warning will be sent to every user in the conversation. Fortunately, you may start a new session right away.
All Switch users can presently access the service for free, but as of April 1, 2026, GameChat will require an active Nintendo Switch Online subscription.
