Omen (Agent 3) has been a dominant controller since launch thanks to his teleportation and smokes. This patch promises to up his game even further.
The key change is to Omen’s ultimate, “From the Shadows” (X). Currently, using the ultimate (often called “Shade form”) forces Omen to cancel it if he wants to pick up the Spike or interact with doors.
That’s changing. Patch notes and playtesters reveal that Omen will be able to grab the Spike and interact with doors while in Shade form without breaking his ultimate. This allows for faster plays and could confuse enemies who expect Omen to cancel his ultimate.
However, there are limitations. Omen can only interact with items that don’t require dropping his gun. So, forget reviving KAY/O or planting the Spike while in the shadows. Ziplines are also a no-go for Shady Omen.
Despite these limitations, the change makes Omen much more flexible during critical moments. The PBE test ends on April 8th, so expect to see these new Omen tactics in action soon!
