The petition titled the “Fifty Fifty Act” was filed by a person on the National Assembly’s national consent petition website on August 25, 2023.

The petitioner said that the recent case of tampering with the K-pop idol group Fifty Fifty raised concerns about the fairness of the K-pop industry. The petitioner urged the government to take institutional and legal measures to prevent such cases from happening again.

The Fifty Fifty Act would create a new law that would make it illegal to tamper with a K-pop idol. The law would also provide compensation for damages incurred by small and medium-sized agencies in the event of tampering.

The petition for the Fifty Fifty Act is currently waiting for supporters’ consent. The petition will be referred to the National Assembly Standing Committee if more than 50,000 people consent to it within 30 days.

The petitioner said that the Fifty Fifty Act is necessary to protect the fairness of the K-pop industry and to ensure that small and medium-sized agencies are not taken advantage of. The petitioner urged the public to support the petition and to help prevent tampering of K-pop idols.
