PS5 Pro Specs
The PS5 Pro features a GPU with 67% more Compute Units than the existing PS5 console and 28% quicker memory. Overall, this allows for up to 45% faster rendering during gaming. Sony has improved ray tracing to create more dynamic reflection and refraction of light. This enables the rays to be cast at double, and sometimes treble, the speed of the current PS5 console.
They are also introducing PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution, an AI-driven upscaling that employs machine learning to give ultra-sharp image clarity by adding an incredible amount of detail.
Sony disclosed the PS5 Pro price at $699.99, £699.99, €799.99, and ¥119,980, with a release date of November 7, 2024. It comes with a 2TB SSD, a DualSense wireless controller, and a copy of Astro’s Playroom already installed. The vertical stand is offered separately.
Sony emphasised that the PS5 Pro is available as a disc-less console, with the option of purchasing the already available PS5 disc drive separately. In territories where Wi-Fi 7 is supported, the PS5 Pro will also come equipped with the most recent wireless technology.
