Remedy on Control 2 And Max Payne
Remedy’s most recent financial report included an update on the status of their planned titles. Control 2 has reached the production readiness stage and a playable game version has been shown.
Max Payne 1 & 2 Remake is considerably further along in its development cycle. It has moved from “production readiness to full production stage.” The developers hope to achieve an “early functional state from beginning to end while focussing on key differentiating gameplay features”.
Control 2 was still in the “proof-of-concept stage” last year, with “ambitious” sequel ambitions. On the other hand, Max Payne 1 & 2 Remake was in the “production readiness stage,” since the team had just recently “gained clarity on the style and scope of the game.” Furthermore, Remedy confirmed earlier this year that the Max Payne 1 and 2 remakes are “enabled by a similar development budget as Alan Wake 2”.
