Sleeping Dogs Movie
When Simu Liu, star of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, tweeted that he was collaborating with the rights holders to bring the beloved computer game to the big screen, Sleeping Dogs fans were thrilled.
As it happens, things are a bit more advanced than that. The Sleeping Dogs movie is reportedly in development, according to a source connected to the project who spoke to IGN. Simu Liu, who plays Shang-Chi in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, is reportedly producing and will play the major role of Wei Shen.
Donnie Yen was supposed to star in the original version, which was revealed in 2017. However, the movie vanished a year later, and Yen himself confirmed a few weeks ago that it had been cancelled.
Fans were a little perplexed when Liu tweeted that he was trying to make the Sleeping Dogs movie a reality. In a subsequent remark, Liu himself fueled the flames and even disclosed his plan to assist in the development of a Sleeping Dogs video game sequel.
