The Battle of Jakku – Republic Under Siege
This film is placed immediately after Return of the Jedi ends. This comes after a recently finished series of comics set between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. This also includes the well-received title Star Wars: Darth Vader.
According to Marvel’s press announcement, the new series will explain exactly what transpired during the key fight on Jakku that was originally depicted in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
The series will be written by Alex Segura. The writer has previously worked on Star Wars: Poe Dameron – Free Fall and EDGE OF SPIDER-VERSE. The press release states that it will be illustrated by Leonard Kirk, Stefano Raffaele, and Jethro Morales.
“We’ll not only give readers a front-row seat to the final battle of the Galactic Civil War – we’ll reframe the aftermath of the Battle of Endor and introduce a new, menacing threat that will keep our heroes guessing,” said Alex. The first episode will premiere on November 20th.
