Among the many new announcements made for Star Wars Celebration 2025 thus far is a movie starring Ryan Gosling that will be released in theatres in 2027. Fans of the Star Wars animated universe can now look forward to a brand-new series. The series will be starring the beloved villain, Darth Maul.
Sam Witwer will reprise his role as Darth Maul in the show, which was revealed as part of the Lucasfilm Animation panel. The renowned antagonist was previously voiced by Witwer in Star Wars Rebels and Star Wars: The Clone Wars. The final sequence of Solo: A Star Wars Story also featured Witwer’s voice.
In the upcoming series, which takes place after the conclusion of The Clone Wars, Maul will be “plotting to rebuild his criminal syndicate on a planet untouched by the Empire.”
New footage from the Star Wars Celebration panel showed the event to be harsh and grim. In the video, Maul offers to train a force-sensitive Twi’lek after rescuing her from prison. Additionally, we witness Maul using his double-ended lightsaber to sever several characters.
