I think most people will agree the Battlefield Franchise has been going downhill since the release of 5. While 5 was a perfectly playable game and the issues were something not gameplay related, 2042 is a totally different story. The game was supposed to be a “love letter” for the fans. However, it turned out to be the worst in the series. And according to EA, we are now getting a new one.

The New “Reimagined” Battlefield
The publisher announced that the upcoming Battlefield will be a “reimagination” as a “truly connected ecosystem”. It’s possible that EA is attempting to connect all of its next Battlefield projects, which are now in development. Maybe it’s something like Portal, but we have no idea. We can just imagine they are trying to do something different after the 2042 disaster.
EA also said they won’t release any battlefield games in the 2024 fiscal year. This means we will only see any more news or release dates till 2025. And looking at the track record of Battlefield releases, it fits right in.
However, fans are not really excited. Compared to its competitor, Call of Duty, Battlefield is doing badly. While CoD kept getting more popular after the soft reboot in 2019, it has been doing great. While the player number of EAs franchises has been dwindling since the release of 5. However, let’s just see if the developers can not mess this up this time.
