Valve 6v6 Hero Shooter – Deadlock
As reported on X, a playtest for this new game is presently underway, and information, including screenshots, has begun to emerge. Deadlock, formerly known as Neon Prime, is a 6v6 hero shooter with a MOBA-style battlefield, four lanes, and tower defence mechanics. There are also railroads around the map that can be used for speedy travel.
The graphic style is significantly different from Dota and CS2. The architecture has a strong European vibe. The characters appear to be closer to the Team Fortress 2 look than any other Valve game.
The screenshots are believed to be from an ongoing closed playtest, with a larger revelation due in the following weeks. However, there is no certainty that any announcement or release is imminent.
Regardless of when we get to witness Deadlock in action, there will most likely be a large audience. Valve’s other active games, CS2 and Dota 2, are typically the two most played games on Steam at any given time, and with Deadlock mixing some of the world’s most popular genres, there will undoubtedly be a large number of people interested in trying it.
