Witcher 4 has, to no one’s surprise, accumulated a hype. Of course it did, it is the sequel to one of the best games of all time, Witcher 3. And the announcement took everyone by storm. From the cutscenes, the game looks gorgeous. However, some are concerned that the game may not even come on current-gen consoles.

Witcher 4 And Concern Over Platforms
As thrilling as it is to know that The Witcher 4 is coming, millions may not be able to play it. We know that The game is powered by Unreal Engine 5. This should confirm that it will be released on current platforms.
However, an unidentified NVIDIA GeForce RTX GPU graphics card powers the game’s cinematic reveal trailer. This is confirmed in a blog post by CDPR. Because of this, some fans think that The Witcher 4 might not be available on the Xbox Series X/S or PlayStation 5.
The fact that CDPR did not indicate which platforms it would be released on is viewed by some as “not an accident.”
Cyberpunk 2077’s launch had issues on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. There should be legitimate concerns that The game won’t be available on existing platforms.
However, if CDPR avoids those problems the next time by making The Witcher 4 a next-generation game, then maybe it’s not a big deal after all. Time will tell.
