Korean actor Yoo Ah-in (37), who is suspected of drug use, appeared in court on September 21 for a warrant substantive examination. He denied all allegations against him, including destroying evidence and coercing others to use marijuana.

Yoo Ah-in was previously arrested on drug charges in May, but the arrest warrant was dismissed by the court. The prosecution has since requested a second warrant, and Yoo Ah-in faced a new arrest hearing on September 21.

At the hearing, Yoo Ah-in calmly apologized for causing trouble and said that he would answer all questions sincerely. The prosecution reportedly added new charges to the case, including ordering an acquaintance to destroy evidence. Moreover, forcing a group member to smoke marijuana in the United States.

Yoo Ah-in shook his head and denied these new charges. He is also suspected of habitually buying and administering medical narcotics, such as propofol, about 200 times at hospitals around Seoul under the pretext of anesthesia for cosmetic procedures. He also prescribed and administered sleeping pills in someone else’s name.

Whether or not Yoo Ah-in will be arrested is expected to be decided by the end of the day on September 21.
