Park Gunwook said through Bubble Live, a communication channel with fans, that he would watch the match and turn it on live so that he could watch it with fans. However, he later turned on the live broadcast again and revealed that he could not watch soccer together, saying, “Because it is a match between Korea and Japan and idols must remain neutral.”

The remarks drew both negative and positive reactions from netizens. Some netizens criticised the singer for his comment on maintaining neutrality.
