Assassin’s Creed Mirage is reportedly been in development for more than a year now. And it was always hinted that the developers were focusing more on the classic AC experience. As much as the last 3 Assassin’s Creed games have been, the RPG style of game play not really appeals to everyone. Especially the older players who have been with the game since 2007.
The new trailer released by Ubisoft enforces the idea of a classic AC game even more. The intentions were clear, even in the trailer name “A Return To Roots“. The trailer shows multiple things. But, here is a total breakdown and summary of what was seen.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage Setting And World
While the last three entries gave us amazing and beautiful looking open worlds, they were not fit for the classic AC game play. After Egypt, Greece and Norway, the series is going back to middle east. Much closer to Damascus, Syria, Where Altair first laid the groundwork of the series. This time is bustling, crowded and colorful Baghdad. More akin to the works of AC 1 and The Beloved Ezio Trilogy.
The developers also included a filter which made the game look more the first AC.
Parkour And Movement
Since, the map is more crowded and busy now, The devs are giving more emphasis to the fluidity of movement. In the trailer, the developers have clearly said they are focusing more and more on the Ezio style of parkour. Which let players zip through rooftops and cities. Parkour was a system which was clearly lacking in the last games. This certainly has made some AC fans happy but the final product is still yet to be seen.
Stealth And Assassination
The focus goes back to the being agile and sneaky. Assassin’s Creed Mirage is more inline to the classics instead of the RPG series. The last three game leaned more into the brute combat. The developers are trying to make players engage with the stealth system as much as the can. With different different stealth systems and engagements. Social stealth also makes a return, a feature missing in the last games.
