Back 4 Blood 2?
A job listing posted by Turtle Rock Studios on Rocksteady hints at a new AAA in the works by the studio. The listing is for a Senior Combat Designer, whose talents will be utilized to develop a new AAA title.
The business looks to be working on the creation of an action-packed video game. The listing implies the game will include boss encounters, class design, weapon fighting, and skill progression. Particularly noteworthy is the statement that one of the job requirements is to “Design and develop combat gameplay, including player movement, controls, and camera from concept to completion, with a focus on how combat gameplay feels against AI and other players.” These details are strikingly similar to the components in Back 4 Blood.
Another interesting qualification for the position reads, “Love of games, especially FPS, Co-op, and Multiplayer games.” This strongly implies that the upcoming project will be a multiplayer cooperative first-person shooter. In addition, a candidate preference lists “Experience with UE4/5 and Blueprint,“. This implies that Unreal Engine 5 may be used to create the game.
This does confirm that the Studio is actually working on a new game. However, it may not actually be a sequel to Back 4 Blood. It could also be a totally new IP considering, the studio has quite a number of them under its belts.
