Chrono Trigger is a JRPG or Japanese Role Playing Game which is reportedly getting a remake. The game was released in 1995 by Square Enix. Chrono Trigger is regarded as one of the best JRPG games ever made, which is a really hard to pull off considering the amount of games present in the genre. Chrono Trigger standing out between games like Final Fantasy and Persona is a really big deal. The game also does not have a long line of games unlike some other games in the genre. It has only one sequel, which was not that good as the predecessor.
So it’s a good news that the game is now getting a remake. Me having played the game just a month ago, can confirm, the game is good. While the game is available on nearly every platform currently like PC or consoled like Xbox Series X and PS5, it has definitely aged.

But there is catch regarding the Chrono Trigger Remake
The leaker, has reported that the game will be Nintendo Switch Exclusive. Which means even if it got a remake, you are out of luck if you don’t own a Switch. Currently, the game can be played on any platform. however, it’s not confirmed whether the players will be able to play the older version anymore.
The same thing happened with GTA Definitive Edition. Nearing the release, the original games were delisted so that people only bought the new ones. It really hurt the player since the game was not and definitely not a substitute to the originals.
Well, it still really early speculation and there is still no ground on it. It will be a great decision though, to remake a classic which definitely showing it’s age.
