Final Fantasy VII was just released this year and was loved by fans. While the game will surely keep players busy for a while, the developers have already started working on future instalments. Finally Fantasy 9 Remake
The first indication of its existence dates back to summer 2021. The Nvidia GeForce Now leak mentions the remake. It has often been proven correct. Since then, other insiders have reaffirmed its existence.
Midori, a well-known leaker with a long history of gaming industry scoops, has released another update on the much-rumoured project. Midori took to Twitter on June 4 to say that the Final Fantasy 9 remake is still in the works, but it has already had one unusual setback.
Square Enix first outsourced the project to an external firm but opted to transfer it to a new developer. This happened after being “satisfied” with the outcomes of its first option, according to the leaker. It’s unknown when this alleged developer transfer occurred, but it may be years ago, especially since the source claims the remake is “very far along” as of mid-2024.
Although the Final Fantasy 9 remake was previously rumoured to be a PlayStation system exclusive, Midori reports that Square Enix intends to release the game on several platforms.
