The current gen consoles promised the most advanced technology we had seen yet. They boasted amazing processing power and it did seem like nearly anything could run on them with the best frames and qualities. However, as time has gone by, it is becoming obvious that’s not the case. This is also considering Sony removed the PlayStation 5 8k claim from its packaging.

PlayStation 5 8K Claims Will Now Probably Part Of PS5 Pro
The PS5 includes hardware to enable high resolutions, however, it cannot play any demanding games at 8K. The console struggles with UHD and usually uses dynamic resolution to maintain an acceptable framerate.
Furthermore, the system lacks capabilities for processing 8K video playback, thus you will be unable to view content at that resolution. This disappoints fans, even though the PlayStation 5 box says “8K” in gold lettering.
According to some reports, the next PlayStation 5 Pro would enable native 8K resolution, as opposed to the current console’s checkerboard display.
There have also been rumours that the mid-cycle refresh will be released in November 2024, which could imply that Sony withdrew the 8K support claim from the console’s packaging to include it in the forthcoming Pro model.
All of this, however, is optimistic speculation. Given the previously indicated demand concerns, the corporation may have given up on 8K entirely. What the real product will include remains to be seen.
