Grand Theft Auto games are not even games at this point. They are pop culture phenomenons that transcend time just like Star Wars or the Beatles do. Rockstar has always put a lot of time, effort, and of course, money into their mainline titles. This is going to be the same case with GTA 6. The game has been in development for who knows how many years but it’s evident that Rockstar is putting everything in its development.

GTA 6 $ 2 Billion Budget
According to a tweet by GameRiot, GTA 6 will cost nearly 2 Billion US dollars to develop. This is 8 times more than GTA 5’s Development budget and 20 times more than GTA 4’s. This is including all the advertising, development, and post-launch content.
However, this is not something that is out of reach for Rockstar. GTA 5 made a total of 6 Billion dollars in revenue worldwide. And GTA 5 is not even their best money-making game. GTA Online is Rockstar’s actual money-maker. It’s not exactly known how many it made but it’s way more than GTA 5, mainly because of the Shark Cards in-game.
