HTC has recently launched two new devices in its U-series, dubbed U23 and U23 Pro. Both devices are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC and come with some impressive specifications. This article will provide an overview of the two devices, their specifications, and their respective pricing.

HTC U23 Pro

Design and Screen

Both the HTC U23 and the U23 Pro have an IP67 rating, meaning that they are dust and water-resistant. The U23’s design is made from a single metal frame and has curved-edged glass on the front and rear for a better grip. On the back, there is a dual-camera setup that is vertically aligned. The U23 Pro has Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for protection.

The U23 has a 6.5-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels. The display also features a 120Hz refresh rate and a touch sampling rate of 180Hz. On the other hand, the U23 Pro has a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels.

Performance

The HTC U23 and U23 Pro are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC. They paired this with an Adreno 640 GPU for graphics and 8GB RAM for efficient multi-tasking. Both smartphones have 128GB of internal storage that can be further expanded via a microSD card up to 2TB.

Both devices run on Android 11 and come with a variety of features, including Dark Mode, Smart Reply, and a Digital Wellbeing suite.

Camera

The U23 has a dual-camera setup on the rear comprising a 48MP main camera and a 2MP depth sensor. On the front, there is an 8MP camera for taking selfies.

The U23 Pro also has a dual-camera setup on the rear, but it is slightly different from the U23. It comprises a 48MP main camera, a 16MP ultra-wide camera, and a 2MP depth sensor. On the front, it has a 16 MP selfie shooter. Both devices come with a variety of camera features including Night Mode, HDR, AI Beauty, and Super Slow-mo.

Battery and Other Features

The U23 is equipped with a 5,000 mAh battery and supports 30W fast charging. The U23 Pro has a slightly larger 5,200 mAh battery and supports 66W fast charging.

Connectivity options on both devices include dual-SIM support, Wi-Fi 6, 5G, Bluetooth 5.1, and USB Type-C port. The U23 Pro also comes with reverse wireless charging support, allowing you to charge other devices wirelessly.

Price and Availability

The GPS-only version of the HTC U23 is priced at $650 and it priced the 5G variant at $800. The HTC U23 Pro is priced at $750. Both smartphones are available for purchase in select markets.
