Jennie of BLACKPINK and Jang Won Young of Ive have both overcome injuries to show stellar stages, earning praise from fans.
Jennie recently appeared on British pop star Dua Lipa’s BBC podcast, where she spoke about the difficulties she has faced as a performer. She revealed that she has been injured on multiple occasions and that this has made it difficult for her to focus on choreography.
“I was stressed because I kept getting hurt during the performance,” Jennie said. “I said, ‘Let’s start,’ and then I fell and fell again.”
Jennie explained that she did not receive enough training on how to take care of her body and that this led to her injuries. However, she has since learned how to manage her health, and she is now able to perform at a high level without getting hurt.
Won Young has also faced her own challenges. She recently revealed that she injured her arm while dancing and that she had to get seven stitches. However, she refused to let this injury stop her from completing the music video for Ive’s “I AM.”
“I went to the emergency room two days in a row and got stitches, and then I digested all the scenes,” Jang Won Young said. “It was cool that he didn’t show his distress on set.”
Fans are grateful to both Jennie and Jang Won Young for their determination and hard work. They are proud of the way that these two talented idols have overcome their injuries to show their fans stellar performances.
