Nintendo Switch 2 – Joycons, Screen Size and More
The report comes from the Spanish website Vandal, which cites information obtained from accessory manufacturers that have seen the Switch 2. The Nintendo Switch 2 could have new Joy-Con controllers that magnetically attach to the handheld system.
A new attachment system may mean that current Joy-Cons are incompatible with the Switch 2. However, the report stated that the new system will support existing Nintendo Switch Pro controllers.
Furthermore, based on the manufacturers’ expertise, who were able to gain an estimate of the dimensions of the forthcoming console, the Switch 2 might be bigger than the Switch, although not quite the size of the Steam Deck.
The Switch 2 would supposedly have a bigger screen. The ordinary Switch has a 6.2-inch screen, while the Switch OLED has a 7-inch display. The Nintendo Switch 2 is also expected to be a more powerful console.
According to the source, the console was likely ready for sale, but Nintendo would prefer to wait for a more extensive game library to be available at launch. This means that the console will launch in early 2025.
