What Will Samsung use it For?
So first thing that needs to be addressed is the AI will be used for in house purposes only. That means, it will not be available for commercial use. Even if Samsung developed an AI Model better than any of it’s competitor, you wont be able to use it. They may however let people use it in the future if they feel like it.
According the reports by Chosun Media, Samsung is investing heavily in this endeavor. They are expecting the first working model to be released by end of July. That is less than 2 months. And since AI models get better by repetition and manipulating and working on data, it seems kinda unlikely. This also means it will be investing heavily all the resources the currently can.
The reports say that Samsung is using all of it’s currently present GPU power to the training of the model since, the working of AI models require a lot of GPU resources. The company has also prohibited the use of GPU for any in house Software development. This really shows that they taking this seriously. However, it is yet to be seen how much better it will be than other language model who had the advantage of time. Probably the biggest head start an AI model can get.
