In a statement released on the 29th, Woollim expressed its concern over the growing trend of online defamation. which includes personal attacks, the dissemination of false information, sexual harassment, and privacy violations. “We have been closely monitoring various online communities, social media platforms, and YouTube channels, and have identified malicious posts that constitute defamation of our artists,” Woollim stated. “We have gathered substantial evidence to support legal action against those responsible.”
The agency reminded the public that defamation is a serious offense under the Information and Communications Network Act and the Criminal Act. “We will take strong criminal legal action without leniency against those who engage in defamation or insult our artists,” Woollim declared.
Woollim also urged fans to actively report any malicious content they encounter. “If you discover malicious posts or obvious criminal activities targeting our artists, please report them to our official email accounts,” the agency requested.
Woollim reaffirmed its commitment to protecting its artists’ rights and reputation. “We will continue to do our utmost to safeguard our artists from malicious attacks,” the agency pledged.
