Games were never cheap in India. Most of the time, since there is not much moderation, prices are directly converted from USD. This meant the games were way more expensive compared to the average earning. This is why it was a sigh of relief for a lot of players when Steam Released a regional pricing program. However, it seems like Bethesda is not considering this as Doom: Dark Ages costs double the suggested regional prices.

Doom: The Dark Ages Regional Pricing
According to SteamDB, Valve’s recommended pricing for the game is ₹2,800, despite it being priced at ₹5,999 on Steam. This price is almost the same as the game’s $69.99 (₹6,035.85) price in the United States.
The story is the same on consoles. In general, games cost more than their PC counterparts and Doom: The Dark Ages is no different. On the PlayStation and Xbox shops, it costs the same as the PC. In India, a $70 console game would normally cost between ₹4,000 and ₹5,000, however, Indian players will have to pay the full $70 equivalent for this game.
The fact that the game will be available on PC and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate on launch day is the only consolation for Doom enthusiasts. With a subscription, players can access it for less money.
India is not the only nation with exorbitant prices. The pricing is 142% higher in South Africa (₹6,572.72) and 128% higher in Saudi Arabia (₹6,875.05).
