The new EP album, titled “The Beginning,” was released on September 22. The album is a compilation of previously released songs, produced for local K-pop fans in the United States by Attrakt, which has an agreement with Warner Records. The initial supply of 156,000 copies was distributed throughout the United States.
Attrakt Still Hoping for Members’ Return
Fifty Fifty has released a new album amid an ongoing contract dispute with Attrakt, attracting the attention of music fans.
CEO Jeon said, “I met with the CEO of Warner Records in the U.S. on May 31, before the dispute, and completed the related verbal agreement. I returned to Korea in June and continued working with our staff. After the contract was signed in early July, “I sent the work to the U.S. in early August. At that time, the incident was an incident, and I proceeded with the work believing that the members would return quickly,” he said.
Contract Dispute Continues
Attrakt has raised suspicions of ‘tampering’ (preliminary contact with another company before the end of the exclusive contract) and pointed out the outsourced production company The Givers as a ‘third force’ trying to rob Fifty Fifty. Accordingly, a criminal complaint was filed against The Givers CEO Ahn Seong-il and director Baek on charges of obstruction of business and damage to electronic records.
CEO Jeon said, “If the ruling was dismissed, we should return now, but it is unfortunate that the members are still being gaslighted by CEO Ahn. Tempering must be eradicated. We must not leave a bad precedent in the K-pop market. The law must be revised to suit reality.” He raised his voice, saying, “We must strengthen the punishment.”
