GTA 6 maybe closer than you expect. Recently Publisher Take-Two reported their plans for the next couple years which can help us speculate a potential GTA 6 release date. Take Two stated that their fiscal year will start on April of 2024. It will last for a 2025 and 2026. The publisher also said that it will be one of the most important time for their future projects. This may also mean that GTA 6 is one of the projects since it being their golden franchise.
Take Two said that they have been preparing for this fiscal years for a time now. The have been adjusting their business according to this very project. Take Two has teased the release of their highly anticipated projects that they believe will set new standards. They have already done most off the accounting work. The publishers stated that they have nearly 9 Billion USD ready to be invested in their projects.
Take-Two’s Billion Doller Net Bookings
The publishers net bookings had never reached more than 3 billion USD in previous years. Even in the last year the price amounted to 5.7 billion dollars. Mainly due to the fact that they acquired Zynga, a mobile developer. A pattern however, was seen in that Take two’s investments and spending were increasing every year. But 9 Billion is still a really huge number. The amount of net booking needed to reach that amount is surely really high. Either two take is developing multiple games which is highly unlikely.
From their track record, we can see that Rockstar doesn’t really release that many games anyway. This means that project must be massive. It can either be a Red Dead title. This is also less likely to happen since the release of RDR2 was just some years ago. Or it could be GTA 6 which could actually happen. Its their only other franchise that takes this much cash to develop.
GTA 6 is still one of the most hyped games of all time. Even with more than a decade without a new title, people still talk about it. The GTA 6 release date is still unknown however. Take Two CEO still hasn’t disclosed any information regarding it.
