A lot of people are excited about the release of Mortal Kombat 1. We have been getting a lot of great fighting games recently. Street Fighter 6 was a success and Tekken 8 is also near its release. And even since Netherrealm acquired the franchise, they’ve been making great games since. However, if you want to play the game, you must make space since Mortal Kombat 1 has a reported size of 140 GB.

Mortal Kombat 1 Size on Different Platforms

Considering PS5s and Xbox’s 1 TB default storage, the game will take nearly 14% of the total storage. This is not considering the space taken up by the operating system and other software. Even if we compare the size to Mortal Kombat 11, with all the modes and 4k Story mode installed, Mortal Kombat 1 is still 50 GB more in size.

It’s important to note that the 140GB install size at launch includes the whole base game content. Users of Mortal Kombat 1 will be able to remove any game components they are not currently using, including the game’s extensive story mode.

The game’s install size is significantly increased by Story mode and Invasions, as well as by 4K assets. By removing Story mode and Invasions, you can free up over 25GB of storage space. Due to the lack of 4K content on the Series S console, it has also been reported that Mortal Kombat 1 takes up around 101GB less than 140 GB.
