In what can be defined as a vital milestone in the smartphone industry, Chinese smartphone manufacturer Redmi has launched its new flagship series A2 and A2+ into the Indian market. Both devices have qualified with the latest MediaTek Helio G36 SoC and a massive 5,000mAh battery for unmatched performance and battery life.

Key Specifications

The Redmi A2 and A2+ both feature a 6.22-inch FHD+ IPS LCD with a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels. At the heart of the device lies the MediaTek Helio G36 SoC, which by up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The A2+ variant, however, comes with a high-end processor with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.

Concerning optics, it furnished the A2 with a triple rear camera setup that includes a 48MP primary sensor, 8MP ultra-wide angle sensor, and a 5MP depth sensor. On the front, the device features a 13MP selfie shooter. Both handsets run on the Android 11 operating system out of the box and are powered by a massive 5,000mAh battery that promises to offer a full day of battery life even on heavy usage. Connectivity options on both devices include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and more.

Pricing and Availability

The Redmi A2 is priced at Rs. 12,999 for the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant, while the higher-end 8GB RAM + 256GB storage variant is rated at Rs. 14,999. The A2+, on the other hand, is priced at Rs. 15,999 for the 6GB RAM + 64GB storage variant and Rs. 18,999 for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant. Both devices are available for acquisition from Redmi India’s official websites, Amazon India and Flipkart.
