In his recent announcement, Yang Hyun Suk shared his plans for TREASURE, stating that he is currently in the process of preparing for the release of their second full-length album, scheduled for August.
In a video uploaded on the official Treasure channel, YG Founder Yang Gyun Suk began by expressing his sincere apologies to Treasure’s global fanbase, acknowledging that he hadn’t been able to fully dedicate himself to his work since the group’s debut. He then went on to announce that Treasure has exciting plans to release their second full-length album titled ‘REBOOT’ in August. The album will feature all-new tracks and is symbolically named after the concept of the group’s rebirth, akin to a computer rebooting.
Furthermore, Yang Hyun Suk unveiled the agency’s intentions to introduce a fresh unit within TREASURE known as “T5.”
Regarding the newly-formed unit ‘T5,’ YG’s head shared an interesting origin story, mentioning that it came about by asking the members to raise their hands if they believed they were good-looking. T5 is set to showcase their songs ahead of TREASURE’s comeback, tentatively scheduled for July. In addition, he revealed an innovative promotional strategy employed by YG, where T5 will release a dance practice video before the official music video, a tactic considered quite novel within the agency.
Expanding on his announcement, the YG founder explained that T5 is scheduled to make their debut as a unit in July, preceding the release of TREASURE’s new album. Notably, YG Entertainment will adopt a unique approach by unveiling the choreography video of the unit before the official music video, which is a first for the agency.
To build up excitement, the five members of T5 will be gradually unveiled, with the process commencing tomorrow (June 13 KST).
