Steam Deck’s Massive Gaming Library
Valve has ‘Verified’ 4,607 of the huge selection of compatible titles to make sure they function “great on Steam Deck, right out of the box”. The remaining 9,416 games have the classification “Playable,” by SteamDB, albeit players may need to make some manual changes.
Valve is carefully going over the whole Steam catalogue to make sure it works with Steam Decks. Each game is assigned one of four scores that represent how fluid the gameplay would be on the gadget. There are four possible game states: “Verified,” “Playable,” “Unsupported,” and “Unknown.”
Four requirements must be met for a game to be certified as “Deck Verified”: it must have full controller support, with appropriate controller input icons; it must support the default resolution of the Steam Deck; it must not display any compatibility warnings; and if it is being played through Proton, a programme that lets players play Windows-only games on Linux systems, then the game and all of its middleware, including anti-cheat support, must be supported by Proton.
3,160 games have been released so far this year alone on the digital distribution platform. Look out for the upcoming Steam Spring Sale as well as other fantastic deals that will take place in early 2024. With its vast and expanding library, the Steam Deck promises to elevate the mobile gaming experience to unprecedented levels.
