This time around Lum aimed to recreate Killjoy’s turret. According to the YouTuber, the project took him six months to bring the turret from the game to real life.
The engineer wanted the turret to be able to track and shoot an individual from across an entire room. Just like last time, Lum used a 3D printer to design and build the turret, which stood at just over two feet tall.
Lum also made a wristband that allows him to manually control the turret by pressing a button from behind. This is useful for situations where he wants to avoid the turret shooting automatically.
Lum uses a Husky Lens AI vision sensor to track people like in the game, which uses machine learning to recognize its environment. It can shoot Nerf darts.
Originally, the YouTuber tried to use facial recognition to track people but quickly realized that it wouldn’t work well if people were turned around or too far away.
In his Interview with Redbull Danny Lum mentioned he looking forward to making more stuff related to gaming.
