Call of Duty has some of the best Campaigns in the first-person genre. However, Call of Duty Multiplayer is the main reason the game was so successful and still is. Compared to older games, the new game’s multiplayer shares a similar formula. And the developers don’t need to change it since it’s so addictive.
Call of Duty classics like the original Modern Warfare trilogy and Black Ops 1 and 2 were the peak of series multiplayer. However, if you missed the experience, you can take part now.

Xbox Matchmaking Update
The new matchmaking update by Microsoft has seemingly fixed the matchmaking for Xbox 360 Era games. This has made people flock to multiplayer classic games such as WAW, MW, MW2, BO, and BO2. If you own any of the games on Xbox One or Xbox Series X/S, you can play multiplayer right now.
At the time of writing, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare had over 3,300 online players on Xbox, whereas Modern Warfare 3 had a stunning 76,000. You should have no issue finding a match on Xbox for the two original Black Ops games. Black Ops had over 127,000. In any case, the numbers aren’t bad for a game that’s over 13 years old. These numbers prove how impactful Call of Duty was to the multiplayer scene in the 7th gen era.
