Open AI Playground allows users to explore and play with OpenAI’s artificial intelligence models. If you have been using these AI models for a time now, this can let get in depth experience of tech. You can tinker with models such as GPT-3 and DALL-E, a generative AI image tool.
Open AI Playground and ChatGPT were created by the same folks, are both free to use to some extent, and can be accessed using the same login credentials. They serve distinct goals and have varied capabilities, with OpenAI Playground focusing on highly technical research and development and ChatGPT allowing you to execute a variety of practical tasks. Open AI Playground gives users access to a variety of AI models, including GPT variants and variations on each model.

Account Login
Select the ‘Get Started’ in OpenAI. If you have previously used ChatGPT, it will automatically login with that information. Otherwise you will have to setup an account.
To create an account, you will have to provide your Email address and Phone Number. After login, you can navigate to Playground. Open AI Playground can be found in the Sidebar. You can then later configure the options in the menu.
Enter Queries or Prompt
After login, you are basically good to go. All you need to do is enter any query or prompt you desire. Prompt can be anything you want. It can be a question, list, topic or an incomplete sentence.
After writing your stuff in the box, just click Submit. Open AI Playground will start generating answers. Keep in mind however, the answer the model provides you with will only be as good as the prompt.
The last thing you have to keep in mind. The thing is, Open AI Playground is not exactly a free service. In the Manage Account tab, you will see that you have spent something called ‘Tokens’. These things actually take place of Dollars. You have 18$ to spend in the first 3 months. The cost of usage depends on the amount of searches and length of keywords. So make sure you don’t over spend.
