JYP Entertainment has announced that ITZY member Lia will be undergoing professional treatment for anxiety disorder. As a result, she will be withdrawing from the group’s upcoming album production and the 2024 world tour starting in January.
In a statement released on Friday, November 17, JYP Entertainment stated that Lia has been experiencing symptoms of nervousness and anxiety during her schedules. After consulting with a doctor, she was diagnosed with anxiety disorder. The company said that after a thorough discussion with Lia and the rest of her group members, it was decided that she would not participate in the new album and the subsequent world tour in order to prioritize her health. The company added that for fans who are disappointed with the news, Lia’s unreleased solo song titled “Blossom” will be featured on the new album. A lyric video for the new song was also released on Friday.
JYP Entertainment said that it will continue to take the best possible measures for Lia’s recovery. The company also thanked fans for their support.
ITZY’s Lia shared a message about her anxiety disorder on the group’s official Instagram account.
This is the second time that an ITZY member has had to withdraw from a promotion due to health concerns. In 2021, Yeji missed out on the group’s comeback with the EP “Not Shy” due to a back injury.
