Konami announced the release of Metal Gear Solid Master Collection on the Nintendo Direct June 2023. While, the game was announced on the Nintendo Showcase, Konami has confirmed that the game will also release on PlayStation, Xbox and PC. It’s an amazing news for players especially PC players. However, there is one catch. The catch also makes point about the other problems the game may have. Also, Konami has never been a great developer anyways. But what are those problems? Let’s discuss below.

Metal Gear Solid Master Collection won’t support Mouse and Keyboard
Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 will be released on PC on October 24th, Konami revealed yesterday. Even yet, it appears that this collection doesn’t officially support keyboard and mouse use and instead calls for a controller. Konami published the collection’s official Steam store page before removing it. And as it says on the Steam page.
Konami does not have a good history with ports. Take Master Duel for example. It’s fine on the PC but abysmal on Consoles. The same thing is happening on the PC this time. They not bothering with keyboard and mouse, suggests Konami will put the bare minimum in these ports.
This also suggests that these ports will be just emulated versions of the HD version released way back. Which were also really bad in the first place. They are still available on GOG and for way less price than the collection.
Even better, emulate the games. It gives better support than whatever Konami can provide it;s players with. Surely someone will make a mod to add Keyboard and Mouse Support but is it really worth it to spend this much money on barely working port?
Maybe the Vol 2 will have the same issues. We will have to wait for that.
